C-Innovation Recognition for the Crew’s Hard Work

News

C-Innovation recently received recognition for the crew’s hard work aboard the Island Intervention ensuring a project’s timeline remained on target and successful.

During the project, a leak was found after a section of coil tubing was connected and pressurized. Instead of sending out for another vessel to recover the unit and tighten the fittings, the C-Innovation team created a plan to carry two wrenches by HD06, a ROV, and utilized the T4 (arm extension) to tighten the fittings and stop the leak.

The work will be performed in water depths of up to 6,500 feet on different assets within the Gulf of Mexico and is currently forecasted to commence as early as July 2019.

David Sheetz, C-I Subsea Manager, said, “This Well Intervention award from BP is a continuation of other Subsea Intervention work C-I is performing as the main contract holder. The Liza Phase 1 Development has reached another incredible milestone—installation of the first subsea tree.

A subsea tree monitors and controls the production of a subsea well. Affixed to the wellhead of a completed well, it can also manage fluids or gas injected into a well.

ExxonMobil Guyana said on Monday the tree arrived in Guyanese waters on the Chouest C-Installer in February. Installation and testing began on April 11 and lasted for 4 days.

C-Innovation Opens New Port Fourchon Dock Facility to Strengthen Subsea Services

C-Innovation Opens New Port Fourchon Dock Facility to Strengthen Subsea Services

News

C-Innovation, LLC, an affiliate of Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) and its family of companies, has opened a new dock facility in Port Fourchon, La., to expand the capabilities of its Subsea Services group.

With more than 550 ft of open quayside, Bayou Lafourche is a main entrance into the facility, which is supplied with a Manitowoc 777 crane and forklifts for rapid mobilizations of C-I’s subsea construction and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) fleet of vessels, including the 525 ft long Island Venture offshore construction vessel.

The dock facility, which will be manned 24 hours a day, will serve as the base for C-I’s Fourchon operations and features client offices, conference rooms with full streaming connectivity, bunk houses and parking for offshore crews.

David Sheetz, subsea manager, C-I, said, “This new facility supports our mission of serving as the single source for subsea solutions. By having our own dedicated dock facility, we can immediately respond to customers’ needs and instantly mobilize resources. By storing critical components locally in Fourchon instead of mobilizing from our main base in Mandeville, we can more efficiently reduce operating expenditure, which will improve efficiency and decrease costs for our customers.”

The new facility is located at the end of AJ Estay Road and was previously known as the Martin South Terminal.

BP’s lead engineer on the project, Dale Pumphrey, had this to say upon completion of the 3 1/2-week project:

I would like to say thank you and recognize the Island Venture team and BP GSE team for their excellent execution of the DC 323 Seal-Tite Intervention.

The team executed the intervention with no accidents, no incidents and no harm to the environment. All APM requirements were met with no INCs. The team successfully placed 253 [barrels] of Seal-Tite into the DC 323 Annulus by executing 41 lube and bleed cycles. This work was done efficiently with very minimal downtime.
